BIOGRAPHY

My name is Kuba. I am a painter. I have been painting since I was a child, when I grew up in my home, most often sitting in the painting studio and watching my father paint, who, like me, watched my grandfather paint. This family tradition is very important to me and has a significant impact on the paintings I create. Even though I managed to find my own style, I often refer to the painting traditions of both my father and grandfather. I grew up in Kazimierz Dolny, a picturesque town where the landscape with a river, uneven terrain, magical light and unique architecture became an excuse for me to take my first steps in landscape painting. Even though I later moved away from it, trying different directions, from abstraction to representational paintings and looking for my own style, light, landscape form, space and other motifs, sometimes seemingly invisibly woven into the painting, are a constant element of my work. After graduating from the Secondary School of Fine Arts, where I obtained a diploma in the woodcarving and woodcarving studio, I began studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw at the Faculty of Graphics. I obtained my diploma with distinction in the illustration studio. Two annexes, on painting and drawing, were also an important part of the diploma. Thanks to studying graphics, I learned the ability to work with workshop graphics, but also learned the principles of design when working on posters, lettering, typography and illustration; but painting has always been the main content of my creative explorations. During my studies at the Academy, I devoted myself mainly to abstract painting, I learned about the formal possibilities that can be obtained thanks to various methods of applying paint, the use of various painting tools and the ability to use them. After graduation, I began to observe my imagination more and more closely, which became the pretext for new works and the beginning of finding my own, original creative path.Currently, I am mainly inspired by nature, which I approach almost with reverence. For me, it is a meditative space in which my inner landscape is reflected, I find space for contemplation on the condition of the modern world, man and his spirituality, as well as universal, timeless truths that he illustrates metaphorically. For me, landscape is also a field for constant exploration of formal painting issues, the relationship of color and light, matter and form.
